Singapore’s 2nd and 3rd Light Rapid Transit Systems, Sengkang and Ponggol LRTs consist of 33 above ground stations and a 24 km track. The two LRT systems was designed to be incorporated to the North-East Line at their respective town centers when completed. Punggol & Sengkang Light Rail Transit System is the 1st Design & Built LRT system in Singapore with fully automated train operation & control system that will elimate human error. The system will be monitored by control centre staff via CCTV at station.
The scope of work included building viaduct structure across Sungei Punggol River via 160m 3 span bridge with 88m spam length clear span for river crossing. Sembawang E&C had achieved 21 million safe man hours for this project.
Services Provided
Design & construction of the architectural, civil and structural works and building services for the stations and the depot, as well as the viaducts.
